Every brand and business could use a boost of adrenaline every now and again, at least as far as their marketing is concerned.
In order for a business to grow, you need a steady stream of new customers coming into the fold – essentially at all times. This is true regardless of the type of business you’re trying to run, or even the business you’re operating in. But in terms of using your marketing to raise awareness, you’ve often got something of an uphill battle on your hands.
People’s attention is more fractured than ever and people are essentially being bombarded by advertising every minute of the day from countless different angles. There’s only so much time a person has to read your blog post, look over your Infographic, go to work and live their life in the way they’ve wanted. Eventually, something’s got to give – and that “something” will probably cause your business to suffer.
Video marketing, on the other hand, has quickly proven itself to be the modern business’ answer to all of these problems and more. In fact, there are a number of core reasons why video marketing may just be the catapult your business needs right now that has been hiding in plain sight.
Video Marketing is Unquestionably Effective
First, some statistics.
According to one recent study, businesses that release a stable stream of video content (either to their own websites, or through services like Uscreen) tend to get 66% more qualified leads per year than those who don’t. Not only that, but those same marketers tend to get an average increase of about 54% in terms of that ever-important quality of brand awareness.
You’d be forgiven for thinking that you need to be able to spend massive amounts of money in order to experience the benefits that video collateral has to offer. You’d be forgiven… because you’d also be wrong. Another study revealed that 76.5% of all marketers who use video – including small business owners in particular – are seeing these types of results with their video marketing campaigns.
Your Users Absolutely Love It
Equally important is the effect that video marketing can create not necessarily for your business, but for the users you’re trying to communicate with.
Another study recently revealed that a full 73% of people have bought a product after watching a video about it on the Internet. 97% of people who responded to a survey said that using explainer videos in particular is a great way to help users understand their businesses better, which itself goes a long way towards getting people to come down off the fence and make a sale. Based on that, it should surprise absolutely nobody that 94% of businesses see video as an effective tool for these reasons.
The fact of the matter is that the people who make up your audience would rather watch a video than read a blog post – even if they’d get the exact same information from both sources. This is true for both B2B and B2C marketers and it’s a trend that shows absolutely no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
None of that is to say that video marketing should suddenly take up all of your attention, however. Far from it. You should still sit down with presentation software like Visme (which I founded) to create compelling content in other formats. But allow your videos to compliment and feed into those other materials, and vice versa.
Likewise, you also need to understand that video alone isn’t necessarily enough to get the job done. You’re still going to need to work hard to write compelling video titles to get people to watch to give you a few minutes of their time to begin with. Likewise, never underestimate the importance of a good thumbnail maker. People are far, far more likely to click on your video if there is a thumbnail present that A) is compelling, relevant or interesting on its own, and that B) teases people about what the video is about in a way that entices them to want to learn more.
If you’re able to keep these tips in mind, statistics like those outlined above reveal that video marketing may just be the secret weapon you’ve been waiting for. If anything, the point of all of this should now be overwhelmingly clear: if your business isn’t already using the best that video marketing has to offer, now would be an excellent time to start.
